Outplacement Services

KPMG’ s outplacement services help organizations cope effectively with employee redundancies due to re-organization, mergers, new strategy, etc.,
assist people in alleviating the trauma of dismissal, equip departing employees with the skills to find themselves appropriate jobs, and assist, through contacts, to find suitable jobs for the departing employees.

These services are customized in an effort to meet the specific requirements of both the sponsor-company and the participant-employee. The stages that KPMG's professionals follow are:

  • Meet with the manager in charge in order to fully understand the circumstances as well as the background of the individual(s)
  • Meet with each of the employees immediately after they have been informed of the decision, to discuss present issues and agree upon a suitable action plan
  • Continuous consultation and counseling including: psychological support, assessment/testing and constructive feedback, transfer of necessary performance appraisal know-how, secretarial support, review of all possible offers, etc.

Outplacement services can be offered both on an individual and on a group basis and the benefits that can be derived from them are several:

To the Employer:

  • Introduce a sense of fairness and reason behind the departing process with a responsible and caring approach
  • Preserve the good name and reputation of the organization among interested parties and especially among current and prospective employees
  • Maintain the respect and morale of the remaining employees
  • Reduce the need for negotiation of costly settlements
  • Significantly prevent worsening of employee turnover rates
  • Demonstrate the company’s concern for the leaving employee’s future

To the Redundant Employee:

  • Reduce significantly the stress-related anxiety generated by inevitably unpleasant circumstances, faced by the departing employee
  • Encourage the employee to carefully assess skills and experience and to define feasible career objectives
  • Boost/improve the employee’s self-confidence
  • Help the individual develop job search skills, such as preparing an effective CV, acquiring interview techniques, developing telephone and presentation skills
  • Provide all needed secretarial support as well as access to the KPMG library and relevant information databases and contacts
  • Increase dramatically the possibilities of the redundant employees in finding the best possible job in the shortest possible time
